The
Couple
Melissa and John got engaged on August 13, 2004 and married on
July 30, 2005! For anyone who hasn’t seen one or both of them
in awhile, here are some details.
About
Melissa
Melissa lives in Pitman, New Jersey, just
over the river from Philadelphia. She is a graduate of
Rowan University in Glassboro, holding degrees in Special Education
and Reading. For the past eight years, she has been a teacher
in the Mantua
Township Public Schools, where she currently teaches
transitional-first grade. She lives in the house she bought
almost four years ago, a little cottage in what was originally
a Methodist Revival-meeting campground.
About
John
John lives in Roselle Park, New Jersey,
near the town in which he grew up. He graduated from Rutgers
University in New Brunswick. John is currently an auditor in
Cranford and lives in the house that belonged to his grandparents. He
enjoys spending some of his free time fishing and crabbing at
his house in a small town near the Jersey shore. One of his
favorite places near there is the Pine
Barrens.
About
Them
John and Melissa attended the same church
(without ever meeting) over 10 years ago. In the fall of 2002,
their paths did actually cross, thanks to the fact that Melissa’s
sister and brother-in-law go to the same church as John. They
started dating in February 2003, wearing down the roads that
connect South and North Jersey!
After
the Wedding...
Once
they got married, John relocated to South Jersey so they could
make their newlywed nest in Melissa’s current home. It was so
nice not to be ninety miles away from each other! Melissa started her ninth year in the same school district, and John
was commuting every day to work in North Jersey. A few months
later, John got a job in Hammonton, so he no longer had a 180-mile round trip daily commute.
